The offset shank acts like a keel to keep baits tracking straight, while the extra wide gap gives solid hook sets when you get hit. Are the VIVOGLOW Worm EWG Hooks suitable for saltwater fishing?
Yes, the EWG design will handle saltwater species like bream, whiting, flathead and estuary perch just fine. However, like any hook, they should be rinsed after use, often when fishing saltwater, to prevent corrosion or otherwise replaced.
What is the benefit of a chemically sharpened hook?
Chemical sharpening results in an incredibly sharp needle point penetrating bait and tissue much easier than a mechanically sharpened hook. The sharpness also holds longer over time and multiple fish compared to a mechanically sharpened hook.
